Ah; Grout. It is notorious for getting absolutely filthy. It is also notorious for being difficult to clean. This has resulted in many people ending up with dirty and grime-coated grout and tiles which look absolutely hideous. Thankfully; grout and tile cleaning doesn’t have to be difficult. In fact; it is rather easy if you know what you are doing. On this page I want to run you through a few awesome tile cleaning techniques which will have those walls looking brilliant in next-to-no time at all!

Professional Tile and Grout Cleaning

Oxygen Bleach

If you can get to your local hardware store then you will want to try and see if they have some oxygen bleach. This stuff, when mixed with warm water to activate it, is absolutely marvellous when it comes to cleaning off stains from tiles and the actual grout. You will need to ensure that your grout is completely saturated with the oxygen bleach. You should leave it in place for about thirty minutes. After thirty minutes have passed you can grab a good, hard brush and gently brush away all of the loosened dirt and grime. At the end of this process you should have tiles and grout that looks fantastic. It is however worth noting that this method is not exactly brilliant when it comes to tile cleaning of tiles which have hardly been cleaned in years. It will not remove everything. It is going to be a good start however! You should rinse the floor with clean, cold water when you are done. You can then mop it up.

Chlorine Bleach and Baking Soda

Whilst you are at the hardware store you should also pick up some chlorine bleach. You may also be able to pick it up from your local supermarket too. This method should only be used if you have white grout and tiles. If you bleach colors then it will ruin the look of them…something which you obviously do not want to happen.

You will want to mix one cup of baking soda to about half a cup of chlorine bleach. You can use a toothbrush to gently work the grout clean. This method is going to take a lot of scrubbing to ensure that your tiles look perfect. This method is probably only going to be ideal for spot cleans or if the room is fairly small.

Steam Cleaning

The final carpet cleaning method I wish to highlight is steam cleaning. You can either rent a steam cleaning machine or ask a professional cleaning company to do the work for you. Steam cleaning is absolutely fantastic when neither of the other methods work. The steam will help loosen all that dirt and grime before you can remove it completely by washing the surface. When it comes to tile cleaning you are not going to find a more effective method. Once you are done with the steam cleaner you can bet your room will look as clean as the day the tiles were installed!
